AMD Budget Gaming Set Up
In this guide, I will walk you through an amazing AMD-based budget gaming set up to run even the newest triple-A games. The goal of this build is to not break the bank so we will do just that
CPU/Cooler- Ryzen 5 5600, Cooler master Hyper 212 Black edition
The Ryzen 5 5600 is a solid budget choice for gamers nowadays. This beast of a CPU comes with 6 cores at a base clock of 3.5 GHz and boosts up to 4.4G.
Motherboard- MSI B550 Gaming GEN 3 ATX
This MSI motherboard is a budget king regarding price to performance. Contrary to popular belief buying an expensive motherboard does not always equal more performance. Along with this value of this board, it also comes with great IO on the back including 6 USB ports along with HD audio and a Bios flash feature. While this board may not be the flashiest, what is does do is save you some money in the long run for your more important components
RAM- Corsair LPX 16 Gb DDR4 3200MHz
This ram is another budget steal coming in at only 40 dollars! This RAM may not be the fastest on the market but it will run in dual channel and still run at a reasonable speed. This makes this kit an obvious choice in this build
GPU-Gigabyte EAGLE Radeon RX 6600 8 GB Video Card OR Gigabyte GAMING OC Radeon RX 7600 8 GB Video Card
The Radeon RX 6600 is one that I have deployed in my system at home. This is a great budget card for gamers who want to run any new games at 1080p high to even 1440p medium at stable 60+fps. Along with this the price to perform with this card is great as it comes in only at 179-190 dollars depending on where you look. If you are willing to spend an extra almost 70 dollars you could instead get a Radeon RX 7600 which will be an entire generation newer, yielding slightly (If even noticeable) higher performance overall.
Storage-Kingston NV2 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive &
These drives will be amazing choices for you within your build. The Kingston NVME SSD will serve great as a boot drive to help give you blazing speeds on your load times into your system. Working alongside the SSD will be our Seagate Barracuda 2 TB hard drive. This will serve as our game drive as nowadays some games can come in at over 100Gb Both of these are solid budget choices
Power supply
It’s 2024 and let’s be real, no one wants to deal with a power supply that is not modular. So naturally we are going to recommend a modular power supply. The Corsair RM650W 80+ gold. This is a no-brainer choice for this build and will give ample room for expansion down the road
Case-Fractal Design Pop Air ATX Mid Tower Case
At this point you should understand the reasoning behind this case, it does its job. There are not many bells and whistles on it, but it doesn’t need that. Overall it has good air flow and a nice tempered glass side panel to look into your build. It also comes with 3 preinstalled 120mm fans. Overall no brainer value choice
Summary
This build blends a nice bit of performance along with nice budget option to give an overall great price to performance. The final total is 727.71 to 797.71 depending on what graphics card you choose. This build will give great performance in 1080p high to 1440p medium.
